eSIM, WiFi, SIM cards and roaming for travellers
Maps, mobile tickets, your train booking or a taxi: in Seville you will use data all day. These are the four ways to get online in the city and the rest of Spain, and which one suits you depending on where you come from.
The four options
- Data eSIMBought online and installed on your phone before you travel. You have data the moment you land, with no shop and no SIM swap. Your phone must be eSIM-compatible and unlocked.
- Prepaid SIM cardSold by Spanish operators in their shops. Cheap and with a Spanish number, but you need your passport to register it and you have to remove your usual SIM.
- Your own roamingIf your line is from an EU country, you use your data in Spain as at home. From outside the EU, roaming is usually expensive: check your tariff before you leave.
- Free WiFiAt the airport and in many hotels, cafés and libraries. Fine for a while, but not for finding your way around the streets.
