Driving and parking in Seville
No fines, no wasted time
- Don't drive into the historic centreThe centre and districts such as Santa Cruz have narrow streets and restricted-access sections controlled by cameras: if you are not a resident you may get a fine. Leave the car in a public car park and walk.
- Public and park-and-ride car parksThere are paid underground car parks around the centre and park-and-ride car parks next to metro and bus stops on the outskirts, cheaper for leaving the car all day.
- Blue zonesOn many streets you park with a ticket and a maximum time. Check the sign and the hours before leaving the car: tow trucks and fines are common.
- Holy Week and the April Fair: better without a carDuring Holy Week the centre is closed for the processions, and during the Fair there is heavy traffic and road closures in Los Remedios. On those days the metro, buses and taxis are a better option.
- Ring roads to cross the cityThe SE-30 ring road goes around Seville and connects with the A-4 (Madrid, Cádiz), the A-49 (Huelva), the A-66 (Mérida) and the A-92 (Granada, Málaga). It is usually quicker than driving through the city.
- Summer heatLook for shade or covered parking: cars get extremely hot inside. Carry water and never leave anyone (or pets) inside.
